  1. 1

    Redistribute the curve

The whole rank curve is reshaped first to absorb the influx of new players, so some ranks rise before any reset.

  2. 2

    Apply the soft reset

The redistributed number then drops about 1 badge on average, nudged 1-2 subranks by last season's winrate.

  3. 3

    Skip calibration

Existing Ranked players keep their standing and climb directly; only players who sat out Season 1 recalibrate.

Who wins, who loses

▲ Wins

  • High-volume grinders350 points per game plus 1500-point promotions reward volume over a lucky streak.
  • Lower-curve ranked playersGlobal redistribution runs before the soft reset, so part of the ladder moves up not down.
  • Players unlocking heroes35 points versus an equivalent 45 means losses now count toward unlocking.

▼ Loses

  • Phantom and aboveTheir full loss protection is deleted outright, so a bad streak now costs real ranks.
  • Streaky climbersShields of 3 and 1 leave far less room to absorb a losing run at a floor.
  • One-trick playersA fourth ban gives opponents more room to remove their hero from the draft.
